The 6th International Conference on Multifunctional, Hybrid and Nanomaterials 2019 (HYMA 2019) was held on 11th – 15th of March 2019 in Hotel Meliá Sitges, Sitges, Spain. Prof. Masaharu Komiyama was attending the conference to present his recent research results obtained under the YUTP funding on “Synergy between metal oxide catalysts in hydrothermal oxidative coupling of methane." The visit to the conference also target to study and collect broad and cutting edge information on functional hybrid and porous nanomaterials to be applied to (1) catalyst search for ongoing YUTP project, (2) planned SATREPS (a bilateral JAICA program called “Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development") funding application, as well as (3) to build and expand networks with worldwide researchers and academics in the field of catalysis so as to enhance UTP visibility at international scenes.

The conference was attended by about 800 participants from over 60 countries. There were 306 oral presentations in five parallel sessions, and 540 poster presentations in three sessions. Also there were 9 exhibitors at the conference site.

This major conference regularly attracts around 1000 interdisciplinary delegates with a shared interest in hybrid materials. Thus it provides an excellent platform for presentation and emanation of our research work, and also excellent networking opportunities.
