ACTIVE LEARNING AND COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES SEMINAR IN COLLABORATION WITH FPT VIETNAM
On July 17th, 2021, the Office of Science Management and International Affairs (FPT Education) in collaboration with the English Department of FPT Polytechnic, Hanoi Campus, the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETAL), the Centre for Social Innovation (CoSI), Institute of Self-Sustainable Building (ISB) and the Department of Management and Humanities of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS co-organised a seminar titled “Communication Strategies in the Classrooms: An Interactive Approach". The seminar speakers were Dr Subarna Sivapalan and Dr Ena Bhattacharyya.
The objectives of the seminar were two-fold, i.e. (a) to enable English teachers across five campuses of FPT Polytechnic to reflect on their current practices, challenges and strategies to create active and participatory engagement of students in the Basic English speaking classrooms and (b) to create interactive learning spaces for students' active communicative participation within an EFL classroom context. The 2-hour seminar was conducted through Google Meet and was officiated by Mr. Vu Chi Thanh the Honourable Rector of FPT Polytechnic.
