Technology Research Excellence (TREx), operating within the Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) structure, acts as a specialized entity that coordinates and bolsters R&D undertakings in line with UTP's vision. A key function within TREx is to procure and manage funds, ensuring the sustainability and purpose-driven nature of all research pursuits.

TREx bears the responsibility of overseeing and facilitating R&D projects while also managing the inception and utilization of Intellectual Property (IP). Moreover, TREx actively advocates for and harnesses R&D innovations by fostering strong partnerships with government bodies, industries, and academic establishments.
