In conjunction with the 47th HICoE- Centre for Biofuel & Biochemical Research (CBBR) Seminar Series and 5th Meeting Inter-University & Industry Network Malaysia Biomass to Fuel and Biomaterial (IUINMB2FM), HICoE-CBBR had hosted a webinar session entitled “Webinar Series 1/2020: Progress in Hydrogen Research”. The first in its series, the webinar was conducted on 17th June 2020 where it had attracted more than 90 participants from various background involving academic students, researchers and industry players both locally and internationally.
This webinar focuses on research progress in the area of clean fuel related to hydrogen production. Recognising the important urge for green and renewable energy to mitigate climate change and environmental crisis, technology evolution and innovation are important to support economic growth of the nation while protecting the environment and ensuring sustainable energy resources. This webinar series provides a platform for knowledge dissemination and exchange among universities, industries and the community.
The webinar was officiated by the Head of Centre of HICoE-CBBR, Prof Ir Dr Suzana Yusup to welcome all participants and was moderated by the Chairman of IUINMB2FM, YBhg Prof Dato’ Ir Dr A Bakar Jaafar FAsc. In this webinar session, three eminent speakers, namely Prof Dr Masaharu Komiyama (Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS), Prof Dr Shaliza Ibrahim, (Universiti Malaya) and Dr Peer Mohamed (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) had shared their insights and experiences particularly in the practical developments of hydrogen as well as its associated technical challenges in Malaysia and the global context setting.
