On 03 March 2021

We would like to convey our deepest appreciation to everyone for your support towards Virtual Technology, Education & Career (VTEC) 2021 that was conducted on 2 – 3 March 2021. For the first time ever, the Career Development Office hosted our annual campus career fair - Technology, Education & Career (TEC) via the UEvent online platform. VTEC21 attracted 25 exhibitors from all over Malaysia such as PETRONAS, Schlumberger, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Hartalega, Top Glove and many more. The two-day annual event was officiated by Y.Bhg Prof Ts. Dr Mohamed Ibrahim., Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS.

With the theme "Towards Greater Futures", VTEC21 provided an ideal virtual environment for students and future graduates to engage and connect with corporate leaders and industry professionals from the comfort of their homes. Approximately 1,000 talents logged in over the two-day event, exploring job offers and internship opportunities, participating in e-engagements with company representatives through webinars, live chat and attending interviews.

There were 25 virtual booths manned by the organisations that took part in this year’s fair where talents could e-drop their CVs, apply for vacancies, participate in live chats, and even be invited to private chat rooms for video interviews. Potential students and graduates could explore employment and internship offers through a series of 7 HR Dialogues/Career Webinar sessions - a revamp of the usual Career Talks with a new focus on interaction and not just exposition. This one-hour session with representatives from the organisations have attracted over 500 participants. Speakers include industry experts, prominent recruiters, and several of our own UTP Alumni!
