On 16 June 2021
More than 1,000 experts of diverse fields of research, innovation and commercialisation from 30 countries will gather for the sixth World Engineering, Science and Technology Congress from 13-15 July this year.

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) will host the three-day congress with the support from the Ministry of Higher Education and Academy of Sciences Malaysia and in collaboration with PETRONAS, Yayasan UTP and HRDF. It will be officiated by Minister of Higher Education, YB Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad.

With the theme “Science, Technology & Humanities: Reinventing the Future”, this is the university’s first time to organise the biennial congress virtually since it was held in 2010.

The congress provides a platform for industry, academia, government and the public to take part in global discussions that cover a wide range of topics from simulation, big data and analytics, augmented reality, autonomous robots and the industrial Internet of Things to non-technical topics of leadership and values, economy, communication and community.

It is the largest congress in the world with nine simultaneously held international conferences. The conferences are International Conference on Oil & Gas Engineering and Technology (ICOGET 2020), International Conference on Civil, Offshore & Environmental Engineering (ICCOEE 2020), International Conference on Production, Energy and Reliability (ICPER 2020), International Conference on Earth Resources (ICER 2020), International Conference on Process Engineering and Advanced Materials (ICPEAM 2020), International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced System (ICIAS 2020), International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS 2020), International Conference on Fundamental and Applied Sciences (ICFAS 2020), International Conference for Management, Social Sciences and Humanities (ICMeSH2020).

“Each of these conferences will focus on different issues pertaining to their respective themes. The nine conferences are in tandem with UTP’s objectives and goals, and allows the university to open up new frontiers, pioneer research, create new technology, and introduce innovative solutions and methods for sustainable developments that will bring mutual benefits to the society”, said UTP Vice Chancellor and Chairman of ESTCON2020, Professor Ts. “We have an excellent programme lined up. There will be prominent keynote speakers who will share their expertise on trends and issues on sustainability from a global perspective,” he added.

One of the speakers who will deliver keynote addresses are Mr Senapathy Gopalakrishnan Chairman of Axilor Ventures India. He will talk about Sustainable Technology.

Another highlight of ESTCON2020 is the virtual exhibition which will run concurrently with the conferences, where industry players from corporations and various industries will showcase their products, services and latest innovations.

“ESTCON2020 is relevant to everyone in the organisation. We believe participation at this congress will benefit all participants locally and globally, both in terms of learnings and networking potential. Thus, I would like to take this opportunity to invite the industry, academia, the government and the public to register as ESTCON2020 non-presenter delegates at http://estcon.utp.edu.my/,” he said.

As non-presenter delegates, they will have access to attend the nine conferences. ESTCON2020 is also HRDF claimable which offers them points for up to 20 hours from the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).
