Valuer and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) have announced the formation of a strategic partnership, creating a new path for industry collaboration between the Asia Pacific (APAC) region and the global startup ecosystem driven by artificial intelligence (AI).
Moving forward, UTP will be able to provide Valuer’s product offerings on top of industrial consultancy services to corporations, government agencies, universities, research institutions, accelerators, and venture funds across the APAC region.
Given the ever-changing nature of technological advancements, basing strategic decisions on instinct or previous approaches is no longer sufficient to stay ahead of the innovation curve. With Valuer, UTP will be able to obtain its insights through an AI-driven approach that uses both quantitative and qualitative analysis to discover emerging trends, identify new market opportunities and bring untapped value to corporate innovators and investors alike.
UTP will be able to tailor Valuer’s AI to help them make the decisions which will spur on advances in both innovation and investment across APAC markets; ultimately contributing towards solving the biggest global challenges we face with speed, precision, and accuracy. Valuer will work closely with UTP’s customers and collaborators in Malaysia and across the region alike to remain wary of, and in sync with, critical market trends.
Furthermore, Valuer’s approach to insight - grounded in ensuring its data foundations embrace both quantitative and qualitative methods of sector analysis - will heighten the probability of businesses in the region being more successful in their efforts to drive sustainability. Valuer will also support UTP by eliminating the problem of convoluted and unusable forms of data, allowing UTP to remain ahead of the innovation curve.
UTP has already developed the technological and entrepreneurial capabilities of its students through existing education programmes that impart the knowledge and skills required to thrive in market-orientated work. Now, by partnering with Valuer, students can use data-driven analysis to ensure decision are grounded in objective quantitative data. Consequently, informed decisions grounded by essential strategic and objective data will be obtained.
Both partners will jointly conduct research on the global startup ecosystem, studying its development and publishing insights for market consumption. By using Valuer, UTP and its partners can best understand what new technologies and innovations can be used to drive their success and shape of our futures, whilst Valuer will work with local ecosystems in the region to further enrich its AI platform and tools with data on Asia’s newest startups.
Dennis Poulsen, Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of Valuer says, “Having the innovative capabilities that we do as a company is something we are continually looking to utilise as we enter into forward-thinking partnerships across the globe. Our strategic partnership with UTP is the perfect example of working together to drive the newest technologies of our times towards commercialisition to the betterment of us all. By working with UTP, we will also have the immense privilege of working to bridge the technological gap that still exists between APAC and the larger startup ecosystem within which we operate.”
Professor Ts. Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice-Chancellor and CEO of UTP comments, “We are very excited about the tools and capabilities that Valuer has that can add real value to what UTP is currently trying to do, especially as we attempt to commercialise our range of intellectual property. Valuer’s complementary roles and functions will play a significant part in our work to impart the knowledge and skills needed for our students to realise their entrepreneurial capabilities through a blend of qualitative and quantitative skillsets.”
