35 students from FPT University, Vietnam have just completed the Intensive English Learning Programme 2023, which was held over four weeks from 20 March until 17 April 2023.
The programme, designed to improve students' English language proficiency, included campus tours, cultural exchange, recreational activities, and educational trips to Ipoh, Teluk Intan River Cruise, Penang, and Cameron Highland. They also learned about different cultures and perspectives, by learning Gamelan from UTP Gamelan group, Sanggar Kirana.
Through the programme, the students were able to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English. They actively participated in all activities and showed significant progress in their language skills.
The students were highly motivated and committed to making the most of the programme. They could apply what they learned during the programme in real-life situations like job interviews and presentations, gaining confidence in communicating using English.
The initiative, organised by UTP Centre for Student Development (CSD) in collaboration with UTP Management and Humanities Department and FTP University Centre for Foundation Studies, provided commendable learning opportunities for the students as it equips them with essential skills for their future careers.
CSD would like to express its gratitude to FTP University for entrusting UTP to provide its students with a global experience. The success of the programme is a testament to the commitment of both universities towards quality education. This was the first cohort from FPT University, and CSD will be hosting another cohort of 31 students from 3 June to 1 July 2023. CSD also hopes to receive 3-4 cohorts annually for this programme in the future.
