Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) has once again made its mark on the global stage, reaching new heights in Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024. The university has achieved remarkable progress, moving up from the 401-500 band last year to the 301-350 band this year.
With this accomplishment, UTP has maintained its position as Malaysia's leading private university and the second among Malaysian universities.
UTP Vice Chancellor Professor Ts Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib expressed his pride in the university’s significant rise in the rankings. He extended heartfelt appreciation to PETRONAS, the university’s academic and industry partners, as well as the staff and students for their unwavering support, dedication, and commitment.
“This accomplishment serves as a testament to our unwavering dedication to advancing academic excellence, nurturing pioneering research, and enhancing the overall student experience. These endeavours are all part of our continuous journey to establish ourselves as a globally prominent and sustainable institution.
"Furthermore, the university actively supports PETRONAS' vision for a sustainable future. By aligning with PETRONAS' energy transition initiatives, we are actively involved in efforts to achieve Net Zero Carbon Emission (NZCE) by 2050.
