Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus (Swinburne Sarawak) today at UTP's campus in Seri Iskandar, Perak.
Signing on behalf of UTP was its Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib while Swinburne Sarawak was represented by its Deputy Vice Chancellor and CEO Professor John Wilson.
Both parties will collaborate in the areas of student exchange and mobility, research attachment opportunities for students and staff on mutual research project arrangements, joint supervision of postgraduate student as well as joint organisation of seminars, conferences and public lectures, exchange of publications, academic materials and other information.
Under the partnership, UTP through its Institute of Self-Sustainable Building, Institute of Autonomous Systems and Institute of Transport Infrastructure will also work together with Swinburne Sarawak's Centre of Sustainable Technologies, Centre of Digital Futures and the Transport Innovation Centre respectively for joint research collaboration projects and activities in the areas of digitilisation, data science and Internet of Things (IoT).
Other areas include university social responsibility (USR) activities and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Outreach programme.
