Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Continues Its Reign in the 2021 QS World University Rankings by Subject

Continues to excel as the nation’s leading University of Engineering and Technology

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) has been ranked among the world’s best universities in the 2021 QS World University Rankings by Subject. The latest results show UTP achieves ranking in ten subjects, with additional two subjects than last year.

UTP is the Nation’s Top Private University in THE's Emerging Economies University Rankings 2021

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) has been ranked 62nd in the Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Economies University Rankings 2021, improving steadily from its previous ranking of 78th. This places UTP among the top 100 best universities in the developing world.

Dr Subarna Sivapalan appointed as Acumen Fellow in Malaysia

Congratulations to Dr Subarna Sivapalan, Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETaL) Director on her recent appointment as the Acumen Academy Fellow. She represents Malaysia within the global social change and social innovation space, committed on developing an inclusive, just and sustainable world.

UTP Campus Election

The Election Commission has officially announced Yap Wei Cheng from Students' Progressive Party as the winning president at 6.30pm yesterday.

This year's election also marked an increase from last year for voter turnout at 68.8% (3667).

Virtual Technology, Education & Career (VTEC) 2021

We would like to convey our deepest appreciation to everyone for your support towards Virtual Technology, Education & Career (VTEC) 2021 that was conducted on 2 – 3 March 2021. For the first time ever, the Career Development Office hosted our annual campus career fair - Technology, Education & Career (TEC) via the UEvent online platform.

Joint Development Agreement between INSTEP and UTP in Developing Augmented Reality Module App

Institut Teknologi Petroleum PETRONAS (INSTEP) and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) entered into a joint development agreement in developing an Augmented Reality (AR) module app for INSTEP’s first-of-its-kind live Upstream Downstream Training Plant (UDTP), which simulates upstream and downstream plant scenarios to produce job-ready engineers and technicians through real plant experiential learning.

UTP Inks MoU with University of Nizwa to Boost Academic and Research Reputation

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) has signed a memorandum with University of Nizwa (UoN) Oman to build stronger academic and research reputations between both institutions.

The MoU will emphasise cooperation in the areas of joint collaborative research, joint supervision of postgraduate studies, joint publication and student exchange.

UTP and AOGU Kazakhstan Sign MoU and MoA to Expand Collaboration in Academic, Research and Exchange

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and Atyrau Oil and Gas University (AOGU) Kazakhstan conducted a virtual ceremony recently for the exchange of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to intensify activities in the areas of academic, research, as well as the exchange of faculty and students.

Yayasan PETRONAS Shares Auspicious Festive Cheer with 3,950 Less Privileged Families Nationwide

Yayasan PETRONAS has commenced its annual series of contribution activities in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebrations nationwide this week.

From 8 to 11 February, Yayasan PETRONAS is collaborating with PETRONAS regional offices to distribute basic necessities, food supplies and personal hygiene care packages to 3,950 families from various charities and low income groups through Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) as part of its Sentuhan Kasih programme.

UTP Reaches Out to 505 Underprivileged Students

UTP has lent a helping hand to 505 underprivileged students around Perak by providing them essential school supplies under the UTP Menggapai Impian and Yayasan UTP School Kits Giving programme.

This fabulous five, who recently represented UTP in the World PetroBowl Championship 2020, emerged first runner up in the competition – the highest position ever for a team from Malaysia AND Asia Pacific.
