Tapestry of Colours 2015
This concert was organised by Yayasan UTP (YUTP), UTP and Alumni UTP at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP) on 17th May 2015. Over 200 Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) students sang, danced and performed their hearts out to raise funds that night. Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali was guest of honour.
A mock cheque presentation from sponsors was also held, and the sponsors included Technip, Dialog Group and ExxonMobil. In total, the foundation received more than RM1.4 million.
2. YUTP Charity Golf 2015
Yayasan UTP Charity Golf 2015 was organised on 10th October 2015 at Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah in Shah Alam and this tournament has attracted 80 golfers from the oil and gas industry. This fund raising efforts is to increase the Yayasan UTP Student Support Fund (YUTP Bursary).
Industry players such as ExxonMobil, SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad, Deleum, OCBC Bank, RHB, Two FS Sdn Bhd, Murphy Oil Corp, Deloitte and Halliburton were among the companies and organisations teeing off were among the sponsors of the event. The contributions to the YUTP Bursary will enable it to award financial assistance to deserving students of the university.
The event has collected a total contribution of RM250,000 for Yayasan UTP.
Student Development Activities
1. UTP Convo Ride 2015
On 04th October 2015, UTP donated 194 bicycles to underprivileged school children from 20 schools in Tronoh and surrounding areas during Convo Ride 2015, the university's CSR programme as well as cycling event, held in conjunction with UTP's upcoming 15th convocation ceremony in October 2015.
For this particular CSR programme, UTP received sponsorships and donations of more than RM80, 000 and a portion of the donations will be channeled to Yayasan UTP bursary fund to provide financial aid for UTP students.
The bicycles were sponsored mainly by UTP and PETRONAS staff as well as other individuals and organisations at RM 300 each.
2. Alumni Convo Dinner 2015
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in collaboration with Yayasan Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (YUTP) organised the 15th Convocation Dinner at UTP Main Hall, Tronoh on 24th Oct 2015 at 8.00 pm. The dinner was held a night before the graduation day to commemorate the success of UTP students who will be graduating in 2015.
This memorable event is jointly organized with UTP Alumni Association, featuring performances by UTP talented students. The dinner was graced by UTP Vice Chancellor, YABhg Datuk Rahim along with Tun Mahathir as the UTP Chancellor, in the presence of PETRONAS Chairman, PETRONAS President, UTP Board Members, PETRONAS Executive Vice President and their spouses together with other invited guests.
In addition, this event is also an engagement platform for the graduating students to establish networking with their potential employers. Yayasan UTP raised RM37,000 throughout this event.
