Lee Jia 2.jpg "YUTP made me believe in my dreams"

Muhammad Aidil comes from a humble family of 9, with 4 younger siblings still being in school. Money was always tight as his family was merely supported by his father, who worked as a chief clerk.

Muhammad Aidil had always dreamt of studying civil engineering at UTP since he was still in secondary school. He wanted to be one of the integral parts of society who could shape the world we live in. Aidil ensured himself that he would stay focused throughout his school years and managed to score an A in Civil Engineering subject for his SPM.

Realising that to achieve this dream of him pursuing an engineering degree programme, it would not be happening even with a PTPTN loan. This is due to the loan would only cover 60% of the fees through his studies.

This would take a huge toll on Aidil's family as his father was the sole breadwinner of the family, working as a chief clerk. Other than Aidil, his father still has to support his other 4 younger siblings out of 7, who were still in school.

When Aidil found out that he had been awarded a Yayasan UTP scholarship, he screamed for joy. His dream of studying civil engineering at one of the best universities in Malaysia was coming true.

YUTP made it possible for Aidil to enrol at UTP and climb a step closer to achieving his dream of becoming a civil engineer. With the YUTP scholarship, Aidil is financially independent and does not have to burden his parents so much.

'The Yayasan UTP scholarship took a huge burden off my father and me, as I could fully concentrate on studies," he said. “The Yayasan UTP scholarship helped me to realise my dream of becoming an engineer. It also taught me to always believe and look for ways to achieve our dreams."

Aidil is thankful that Yayasan UTP gave him the opportunity to make something of himself and he hopes to soon be able to contribute to Yayasan UTP to help others realise their education dream as well.
