Programme Objectives
To produce doctoral graduates who are:
- Competent in research, modeling, systems analysis and development of petroleum geosciences at an advanced level, contributing substantially to the development and generation of new techniques, ideas or approaches and then apply their knowledge.
 - Able to make informed judgments on complex issues in petroleum geosciences and an innovative approach to tackling and solving problems.

Programme Outcomes
To produce petroleum geosciences doctoral graduates who demonstrate the ability:
1.	To create and interpret new knowledge, through original research, of a quality to satisfy peer review, extend the forefront of the discipline, and merit publication.
2.	To apply a systematic acquisition and understanding of a substantial body of knowledge that is at the forefront of field of petroleum geosciences academically and/or in professional practice.
3.	To lead the nation’s petroleum geosciences sector and drive the development of its petroleum industry.
4.	To conduct lifelong learning for professional development.
5.	To uphold good practices and professional conduct.
