Mode of Deliverance, Course Duration & Mode of Study: Full time and Part time research

Entry Requirements:

  • A Masters degree, or
  • Other qualifications equivalent to a master’s degree that are accepted by the HEP Senate.

English Requirements:

  • Engineering Programmes - IELTS - 5.0, TOEFL - 500
  • Science/PhD. in Management/PhD. in Social Science & Humanities Programmes – IELTS – 6.0, TOEFL - 550
  • Information Technology / Information Systems Programmes - IELTS – 6.0, TOEFL - 550

However, this requirement is waived if candidate:

  • Have obtained Bachelor / Master or other relevant degree from Malaysian recognised institution whereby all courses are fully conducted in English or;
  • A native of an English-speaking countries or;
  • Graduated from English speaking countries institutions

FAQs

1. If I have done Research Methodology during my Master study, how can I apply for an exemption for the Research Methodology for Social Science and Management RAM5013?

Answer: You may apply for the exemption, however it should be submitted with official course outline, passed with at least Grade B and requires UTP RAM5013 coordinator’s endorsement (at least 80% similarities) and subject to DVCA approval.

2. What is the requirement for Research Proposal Defence (RPD)?

Answer: You need to pass RAM5013 prior to RPD. There will be two attempt to pass RPD.

3. What should I register for after passed my Research Proposal Defence (RPD)?

Answer: You may register for Research Progress every January & September semester following the RPD. There will be Annual Postgraduate Conference (APC) in May semester in which student will submit a research paper and do the presentation to two examiners.​​
